Our chemical business started with the need to secure supplies of soda ash for glass production.
Ion-exchange membranes were a spin-off from
the technical advances made along the way. Today, we supply a wide range of high value-added derivatives, a business that originated in chlorine produced during electrolysis. The two main pillars of this business are our technical leadership in fluorinated resins (fluoro-resins) and in urethane. Highly sophisticated products include Cytop transparent fluoropolymers used in optical filters for PDPs and in plastic optical fibers. Moreover, our high-performance polyols are used in special grades of urethane that feature outstanding insulation and cushioning and are widely used in motor vehicle seats and furniture,etc |
